USEFUL INFORMATION
Climate
Fiji has a mild tropical maritime climate throughout the year and has 2 seasons:
dry season ( May to October) , wet season ( November to April) .Navutu Stars closes
its doors from the 1st of February to the 10th of March every year due to heavy
rain downfalls. Fiji average yearly temperature of around 25 degree Celsius and
its waters range from 25 to 28 degree Celsius.
Clothes
There is no dress code at the Resort , we recommend to pack a sweeter in the dry
season as temperature in the evenings are a bit chilly. Ladies visiting a local village refrain from wearing a short skirt or a sleeveless top.
Medical
There is a nursing station on the island of Yaqeta and there is a doctor 20 minutes
away from the resort in case of a medical emergency. Please bring your own medication.
Natural Hazards
There are no venomous insects or land snakes, however as you are on a tropical island
you might see bugs, spiders and geckos, they are harmless.
Phones & Internet
Internet is available at reception and its free for the guests every day from 4
pm onwards, there is a phone, and international calls will be charged to your Bure.
There is mobile reception at the Resort, but use of mobile phones is not allowed
in the common areas such as pool, bar , lounge and diner.
Power
The Resort supplies 24 hours continuous power with its 2 generators, the electricity
is supplied at 240 volts, if you come from the USA please bring with you a converter
suitable for your electrical appliances .Outlets are of 3 pin type and use flat
2 or 3 pin plugs. ( same as in Australia and New Zealand)
Shop
There are no shops on the islands , the Resort sells basic items such as sunscreen,
t shirts, sarongs, toothpaste, toothbrush , cigarettes, postcards. A boutique will
be available from 10 th March2010.
Travel Insurance
We highly recommend our guests to take up an international travel insurance prior
to traveling as the Resort will not refund any unused nights or early departure
due to illness , weather adversities or flight-boat cancellations.
Water
The Resort provides you with 2 bottled water in your Bure daily, tap water comes
directly from our desalination plant and it’s safe to drink . Please refrain to
use tap water if you have a sensible stomach |
